Carbon dioxide (CO 2) is a chemical compound
While carbon dioxide is absorbed by leaves, water enters the plant through its roots.
plants use carbon dioxide in photosynthesis
CAM implies Crassulacean Acid Metabolism, and in this process the carbon dioxide is actually stored as an acid before it is used for the process of conversion into energy.
The carbon dioxide (CO2) then combines with water (H2O), and in the presence of sunlight then creates sugar (CH2O) and releases oxygen (O2) in the process as well.

These depend on the frequency and the intensity with which the stomata of the plants open and close, the amount of transpiration (evaporation of water from the stomata) that occurs, the amount of sunlight and heat that the plant is subjected to and the ratio of carbon dioxide consumed by the plant to the amount of water lost through transpiration (this figure is known as the Water Use Efficiency ratio).
Photoaututrophs utilize sunlight for energy and CO2 for theircarbon source by this process of PHOTOSYNTHESIS whereby sunlightis absorbed by a complex compound known as chlorophyll andconverted to energy which drives a series of chemical reactionsthat ultimately removes hydrogen from water or other compoundsand then combines the hydrogen with carbon dioxide in a way thatproduces sugars.
The source of the carbon dioxide that is used in photosynthesis is c
Plantsuse a process called photosynthesis to make food. During photosynthesis, plants trap light energy with their leaves. Plants use the energyof the sun to change water and carbon dioxide into a sugar called glucose.Glucose is used by plants for energy and to make other substances likecellulose and starch. Cellulose is used in building cell walls. Starchis stored in seeds and other plant parts as a food source. That's why somefoods that we eat, like rice and grains, are packed with starch!
Photosynthesis is a natural process by which trees and plants use energy from the sun and carbon dioxide from the air to make the food they need to live and grow. By storing carbon above and below the ground, the trees and plants in forests contribute to the production of oxygen as a byproduct of photosynthesis.
Experiment to show that carbon dioxide is needed for photosynthesis
experiment to prove carbon dioxide is utilized ..
The concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide rises and falls in a seasonal pattern over a range of about 6 ppmv.
Does Photosynthesis Need Carbon Dioxide
In this process the energy absorbed by chlorophyll transforms carbon dioxide and water into carbohydrates and oxygen.
The carbon dioxide molecule is linear and centrosymmetric
Carbon dioxide (chemical formula CO 2) is a colorless gas with a density about 50% higher than that of dry air
Carbon dioxide is a chemical compound ..
Evidence from the study shows that a 1% increase in Ghana’s population will increase carbon dioxide emissions by 1.72%. A 1% increase in GDP in Ghana will increase carbon dioxide emissions by 0.37% and a 1% increase in energy-use in Ghana will increase carbon dioxide emissions by 0.53%. In addition, 21% of future shocks in carbon dioxide emissions are due to fluctuations in energy-use, 19% of future shocks in energy-use are due to fluctuations in population, and 17% of future shocks in population are due to fluctuations in GDP.

Ghana acceded to the Kyoto Protocol by The United Nations framework convention on climate change (UNFCC) in November 2002 and has been listed in non-annex 1 countries that can only contribute in the clean development mechanism as her contribution to reducing emission levels of her greenhouse gases. A limitation in scientific research in these areas makes it difficult for local and private investors to make a decisive decision in their investment in Ghana. Attempts have been made to make known the developmental issues in Ghana in the scientific arena but is still limited in the scope of climate change mitigation. Against this backdrop, our study investigated the relationship between carbon dioxide emissions, GDP, energy use and population growth in Ghana by using two econometric approaches and a time-series data from 1971-2013.

Access to energy is one of the many ways of achieving higher levels of economic productivity in every technological and advancing country. Energy demand and economic development is increasing due to the requirement to meet basic human needs and productivity. However, the quest to meet global energy demand has led to the use environmental unfriendly energy sources that impact climate change due to the emission of greenhouse gases. As a result of this, the Sustainable Development Goal 13 focuses on actions that help mitigate climate change and its impacts. The causal relationship between carbon dioxide emissions, GDP and energy use have been sporadic and limited especially in developing countries like Ghana. Ghana’s contribution towards climate change mitigation is eminent.
